His Swine Fasted
Adam Duschlap, who makes a living for his swine by gathering table refuse about the city, came near death Wednesday, while driving across the Toledo railroad track. His sleigh was struck by a locomotive and Duschlap was tossed six or eight feet in the air and, coming down calmly took his seat upon the cow catcher, where he sat till the locomotive stopped. His head was slightly cut and he vowed his determination to "make the tam railroad pay for his bob sled," which was broken up. The horse was rolled over once or twice but was not injured. The escape was certainly a very narrow one.
