Chicago, Jan. 9.- What is thought to be a fine quality of natural gas was discovered Saturday night flowing freely from an artesian well under the Leland hotel, situated on the lake front in this city. The gas burned steadily Sunday, and It is believed to come from a large vein extending under Lake Michigan. Warren F. Leland, proprietor of the hotel, intends to develop his find at once.
