The attention of the Adrian Times, which has been described? the high handed proceedure by which the democratic majority of the election committee was going to seat Carlisle from a district in which Thoebe was elected, is called to the fact that three of the republican members of the committee voted that Carlisle was elected and three dodged. Not a solitary republican could so far stutlify himself as to vote tor the unseating of Carlisle. It must have been very high handed proceedure, which muzzled these republican congressmen.
When our readers have finished the accounts of the great loss of life during the recent blizzard, in Dakota, they may well congratulate themselves on living in Michigan. Here a blizzard which makes it impossible to see a few feet from you, or to hear a man's voice six feet away, is happily wholly unknown. No man has yet frozen to death in going 30 feet from his house to the barn in Michigan and our school teachers are not frozen to death with their charges. The blizzards which sweep across Dakota, rage through Minnesota and Wisconsin seemed to spend their force on Lake Michigan. It is colder a few miles south than it is here.
