The Missionary Convocation

A very interesting semi-annual convocation of the Episcopalian diocesian missionary society was held at Hobart Hall, Tuesday and Wednesday. Bishop Gillespie preached the sermon Tuesday morning. In the afternoon several missionary topics were discussed, the tenor of the remarks of the ministers indicating the importance of training laymen for missionary work. In the evening, Rev. Dr. Bunn delivered an eloquent lecture. Wednesday was profitably spent in discussion of the Society for the Propogation of the Gospel and the American church. Chuch Guilds, Financial Methods in Missionary work and Sunday School work. The importance of getting business men to attend the Sunday schools was urged. About thirty parishes were represented.
