Sunday ovening he called.the fnraily and frieqds to bis bertside and borg bis testimony to the truth of the Book of Hormon, and the ,Bible. He is past 83 years of age. Mr. Whitmer isan old citizen of thia town, and is known by every one here as a man of the highesl honor, having reaided hei'e since the year 1838. He is not and nevar bus been a believer in polygamy.
