ADRIAN, Mich., Jan. 24.—On Sunday, Jan. 15, the Presbyterian church was closed against its pastor, the Rev. G. P. Blanchard, the only explanation given by the officers being that "the devil was in the preacher." Monday a document was printed over the reverend gentleman's signature confessing that while calling on the wife of Dr. McDonald, as a minister, be made sinful advances and asking forgiveness of the lady, her husband, and his God. There are stories of other irregularities on the preacher's part, and it is claimed that he left Paw Paw under a cloud. He is a man of wide acquaintance in Michigan.
