Dr. Gray's Death
Dr. Asa Gray, the first professor appointed for the Üniversity of Michigan, died in Cambridge, Monday. He was appointed professor of botany in 1838 and was given a two years leave of absence, While in Europe he purchased the flrst of the books bought for the University library. In 1842 he was elected professor of natural history in Harvard University. He was one of the best known botanista in the country.
