SPBINGFIEX.D, Hls., Feb. 7. - As the Salvation Anny were conc'uding tboir Street parade Monday evening, a mob composed of bums and saloon loaters assailed them witb roLten eggs, dead cats, and decayed vegetable. Tbe obief of pólice and mayor were recently defeated in a lawsuit by the aruay leaders, and since then the soldieia have been almost utterly without polica protection. A girl who was marcl ing in the line when the assault was made is said to have been knocked senseless by a blow received in tbe face Irom a rotten egg.
