The People Speak
Editor Argus.- It seems verjr strange to me that in all probability York township will give a heavy tnajority for prohibition. Milán and York liave nolhing to gain and everything to lose. Monroe county will uever carry prohibition. No eSort has been or can be made to try it this year. At present all the expenses of running the village government of Milan is paid by the saloon tax and under the new law half of the county tax of York citizens would be paid by it. If prohibition carries, the saloons would simply move into Monroe county. All who drink liquor here now could get it by goinc; a quarter of a mile farther and the citizens would have the taxes to pav that the saloons now pay.
