Sleighing gone. Dr. Messic is still quite UI. Mrs. Dr. Chapín was on the sick list last week. Attorney Williams is on the sick list this week. Many of -fhe Milanites are quite seriously ill with colds. Mrs. Zimmerman, wa$ a Detroi visitor several days last week. The Milan school has never been so prosperous as it is this winter. George McDonald, the evange list, is the guest of Mrs. Blinn this week. Mrs. Pinkham and Mrs. Q-rose were Nora'visitors the first of the week. Mr. and Mrs. H. Sill, spent Sunday with Mr. Charles Hoyt anc wife at Saline. Mr. Clark, of Saline, has a large class of pupils in his singing class He is a very interesting teacher. Mr. E. Knickerbocker, our new postoffice clerk, is exceedingly pleasant and obhging and gives good satisfaction so far. The Musical at Mrs. H. Hack's was well patronized, the net proceeds amounting to $11.50. The programme was good and well rendered. Miss Lena Blinn and Miss Onie Williams drove to Stony Creek, Monday afternoon. They report the wheehng very good in that vicinity. St. Valentine social at the PresTöyterian church was a very pleasant affair, every one coming away feeling that they had been well repaid for going. We wonder if the Dexter correspondent is one of the many readers of H. R. Haggard. If so, He will know that the author of It, was not made an attorney. The G. A. R. will soon put on the boards a drama, entitled "Hal Hazard or The Federal Spy." Local talent. Proceeds to be used for the benefit of the post. Mr. William Whaley, who has been seriously ill, is convalescent, greatly to the joy of his host of friendo who feared at one time that he would never recover. The Methodist tea social will be held at the residence of Mr. and Mrs. Wallace, Wednesday afternoon and evening. No pains will be spared to make the occasion a pleasant one. Mr. Hill, lately f'rom England, opened a meat market on River st. last week. He has leased Mrs. Steever's house for a time and his family arrived in town Friday. He expresses himself as heing pleased with our little city.
