Senator Hawley Mildly Surprised

New York, Feb. 13.-  Senator Hawley, who is in this city, when shown Mr. Blaine's letter, said: "Well, l am not altogether surprised, and yet did not expect this. I was talking to some of Mr. Blaine's closest friends only a few days ago and they had no idea that Mr. Blaine would come to such a decision. They did not expect anything of the sort, in fact, were drawing plans for a Blaine campaign. Still, as I said, I am not altogether surprised at Mr. Blaine action."
