Toledo, Ohio, Feb. 18.- The funeral of the late D. R. Locke took place Friday afternoon, the services being held at the residence. The religious exercises were conducted by the Rev. Robert McCune, Congregational minister of Ironton, Ohio, a devoted friend of Mr. Locke of thirty-five years standing, and at one time an editorial writer on The Blade. Following this was an address by ex-Governor J. M. Ashley, of New York, once congressman from this district, and a close friend of the deceased The Masonic order then took charge of the ceremonies, which were conducted according to its beautiful ritual. The body was placed in the vault at Woodlawn cemetery. An enormous throng of citizens was in attendance, including a large number of noted persons from abroad, among whom was ex-President Hayes.
