The Cincinnati Telegram in speaking of that excellent company, the Silbon's who played here last night and will tonight repeat the play, says:
The Silbons at the People's Theater this week present what they call a "big, spectacular, burlesque company" in a "comedy burlesque," but, in reality, it is a melange of clever variety acts by some immensely clever people set in a sort of pantomime frame, with some nonsensical dialogue and extraordinary monkeyshines for spice. Exactly such a performance was never seen in Cincinnati, and so it would be impossible to convey an idea of its excellence by contrast or comparison; suffice it to say that the very large audiences of yesterday went wild with applause over almost ever feature of the performance, and the best advertisement the Silbons could have is a continuance of their line work.
