John VVeidemon, of Pittsfield, was stabbed last Thursday nght by Jacob VVeidelich, who had called at VVeidemon'a house with the inteution of staying all night. They had been friends and it is repoited that as Weidelich was under the influence of liquor he was refused admittance. At any rate he openeda jack-knife and made several vicious lunges at Weidemon, stabbing him in the breast, so that the knife blade reached the lungs, in the liver, and also striking him hi the face. He was aneated and taken to jail, where he is now awaiting the result of Weidemon's injuries. Several times hits week, the injured man has been reported dead, but it is now thought that he will recover.
