Union 85 of the Brotherbood of Carpenters and Joiuers of America at lts regular meeting on April 16, 1888, appointed a committee to draw up suitable resolutions on the death of our late Brother John Burns, and that a copy be sent to his family and also to the city papers. Whekeas, It has seemed good to the Ruler ot the Universo to take from our raidst our beloved brother John Burns, and from his family a true son, aud a good citizen, he it Jiesolved, That the members of this Union desire to express their sense of oereayement, ana griet at tlie loss of one of their faithful mernbers. Resolved, That we sincerely sympathize with the family of our beloved brother and that we respectfully commend them for consolation to thatDivine l'owerhich thoughitsometimesseems hard, yet doeth all tliing well, feeling sure to them there is comfort in the knowledge that the deceased was a bevoted and a consistant Christian. Beeolved, That in token of our soitow at the death of our brother, that our charter be draped in mourning for thirty days.
