A Murderer Breaks Jail

Lebanon, Pa., May 'J.- William Showers, under sentenee of death for the murder of his two grandcliildren, escaped from jail here Monday night. He dug a hole through the solid stone wall, and lowered himself from opening with a rope made from blankets. Showers is 70 years oíd, and how he escaped detection in the town is mysterious, as the jail is situated in the very heart of the city.
