Refused A W. C. T. U. Request

Wabash, Ind., May 83.- One thousand gray-haired men sat in the tabernacle of the Dunkard church yesterday and voted against permitting the Woman's Christian Temperance union to hold meetings in the tabernacle. In refusing the request which had been made them, the committee explained that for over 100 years their church had never been used for any but religious purposes, and they did not think it proper to commence it now.
