Henry George Formally "fired."
New York, May 29.- Henry George has been formally expelled from the United Labor party. Until recently he was a member of the Twenty-third Assembly District association. He eame out in an editorial in wbieh he said that he nould support President Cleveland if he were nominated on a platform attuned to his tariflf doctrines. This maddened his colleaguesv and charges were preferred against him. They were to the effect that he had abandoned the land-tax principie for free trade, and that he violated the constitution in advocating the election of a man who was not a raeraber of the United Labor party. The association met and unanimously expelled Mr. George.
