LTo late for last week.] It didn't rain on decoration day. Prof. Phillips visited at Ypsilanli n Tuesday. Mrs. G. J. Huessler went to Jackon Tuesday. Miss Eva Fisk went to Jackson n Wednesday Miss May Bodine visited Tecumeh on Tuesday. A large crowd witnessed the batf jame Wednesday. Fred VanDuyn attended the pening at Clark's Lake. Miss L. Burns, of Bridgewater, was in town Wednesday. Mrs. A. Amsden, of Chicago, reurned home on Thursday. Messrs. Kemp and Freer, of Chelea, were in town Wednesday. Messrs. George Holmes and Fred Vlacomber, spent Sunday here. Frank Wade, of Monroe, was in own Wednesday and Thursday. The saloon bond of John J. Reichrt was rejected by the common ouncil. Mr. S. Clarkson and family, of Ann Arbor, have been visiting at L. D. Watkins. Mr. F. Spaford is fixing up his house on Exchange place by giving it a coat of paint. Mrs. Chubbick, of Amboy, 111., vvho has been visiting her father, Thos. Spafard,returned home Wednesday. This is the seconü defeat our ball team has suffered at the hands of Ann Arbor ball tossers. Prof. Phillips and family left Tues!ay for Macón, where they will pend the sutnmer. The new steamer built by Clark 3ros. will be run on Wrampler's ,,ake this summer. The base ball game on Tuesday was very interesting, Milán leading ip to the seventh inning. Kempf's over-the-fence and home-run hit were the features. The score: R. 1!. H. E.
