The body of an infant was washed up on the shore of Whitniore Lake, last Sunday, near the steamboat landing at the Grand Trunk depot, and was fonnd by a little boy who at first suppposed it the body of a lanab. A rope was tied around its body and a noose at the other end of the rope, indicating that it had been fas tened to a stone or some weight to keep the body down. The rope as a new one. The body had evideutlv been in the water about three moutbs and was sotnewhat rnutilated. It was clearly a case of infanticide. A coroner's jury was called in the case by the Livingston county offlcers. Funeral services were held over the body on Tuesday and it was given Chnstian burial. The parties guilty of the murder should be ferreted out.
