St. Louis, June 26. - An accident occurred at Dauiel Jlarsh & Sons' coal mine, two miles south of Belle ville, Hls., late in the eveuing. As the miners were ciuit.ting work for the 'iay the hoisting-rope broke and let five men iail to the bottom, a distance of eighty feet. The list of injured is as follows: Edward Hoffmtm, 31 years old, both legs crushed below tlie knees; John A. Wottawa, 28 years old, both ankles crushed; Charles Wiesser, 14 years old, left leg crushed; George Wiesser, ) 5 years old, spine broken aud internilly injured, will die; Oscar Merrill, 37 years old, head cut arid luugs injured, will die. , The last two name 1 can not live, while the others are also in a dangerous condition. All are single excejjt Hoffman and Merrill, each of the latter havmg a wife and svercl chüdren.
