Dayton, O., July 5. - SDciety is stirred up over a great scandal here. Last April a wealtby iron merchanC frorn Pittsburg named Thomas carne to Dayton witb a bandsonie blonde, about 27 years oid, whora lie introduced as Mrs. Thomas. Tbey were receiveil in tbe best society. She wore elefant diamonds, wbile he sported plenty of money. In June Thomas opened an iron establishment bere uuder the name of the Dayton Iron conipany, putting the same in the uame of one Black. On Juno ltí Detective Henderson, of Perkins' agency, Fittsburg, ar rived, and with the Daytou detectives, ran tbe pair down. ïbey were arrested yesterday lor adultery. Thomas hnd left his wil'e in Pittsburg, brought Mrs. Black here and lived with her as her husbahd. Tbe Dayton Iron company was run nnder her name. Mr. Thomas con tinued to carry on a similar iron establishment in Pitts!mr,r. Thomas repivsented for his wife that he traveled for an iron firm in Chicago, and visited her every tno weeks, obtaining mouey from her to keep up the firm here. Vvhen taken to the Central pólice station the pair offered diamonds and jewehv as bonds, but they wore refused.
