Some of our farmers have commenced thrashing their gram. The rain carne just in time to save the corn and potatoes, and put the farmers back in drawing wheat. Two of our Dixboro ladies were trying the speed of their horses the other day coming home from Ann Arbor. They had a lively race of it. After carrying water for eight years, Mr. F. A. Shuart coneluded to try a drive well and twenty-five minutes after starting the pipe he had driven 20 feet and secured four feet of splendid water. Mr. Shuart is very proud of his well.
