Chicago, Aug. 3. - The Anson aggregation played good enough ball yesterday to break the monotony of the past week or two and win a game. Borchers pitched. T.he league scores were: At Boston - Boston 3, New York 7; atDetroit- Detroit h, Pittsburg f; at Chicago - Chicago 4, Indianapolis 3 - seven innings, rain; at Washington - Washington 2, Philadelphia 0. Chicago, Aug. 4.- The Indianapolis club carne over yesterday to play a series with Anson's nine and met defeat, the city papers giving the credit thereof to William Hains, of Da venport, Ia. , who is a ne w pitcher signed early this week.
