Washington City, Aug. 13.- Calvin S. Brice, etaairman of the national Democratie executive committee, arrived in Washington on Saturday afternoon. During the day he visited the president, and had a long talk with Col. Lamont. Later he saw stveral prominent Deraocrats, and ia the evening called on Speaker Carlisle. He returned to New York on the 11:20 train. It is believed tbat bis visit was one of considerable importance. He told the president that the campaign text book was waiting for his letter of acceptance. It was deeided, it is said, that the letter should be given out this week, probnbly on Thursday. The coinplaints against Postmaster Pearson, of New York, ere a topic of informal conversation.
