St. Paul, Aug.- 27.- A man calling himself E. S. Burns and representing himself to bealawyer for Sa vage & Green, of South . Omaha, Neb., bought 118 steers f rom Cunninghatn & Haas, of St Paul. Burns is a very smooth talker, and presentad a draf t on Savage Green for $3,374.20 in payment for the steers. He then disappeared and sold the steers, realizing a nice little sum by the transaction, though he could afford to sell them for a loss, as the draf t which he gave proved to be absolutely worthless. Savage & Green disclaim baving any such man in their employ, and know notbing of the tranaciton. A warrant was issued, requisition papers on the governor of Nebraska were made out, and Detective Dan O'Connor started for Omaha, hauing learned that Burns had fled to Nebraska.
