At The County Jail

The county jail was inspected Tuesday by the superintendents of Ihe poor and County Agent Greene. They found eight prisoners in jail, four of whom were awaiting trial and four serving sentences. The sanitary eondition was found to be good, the re being no evil in construction or management. The board, however, earnestly recommended a new cement bottom to the cellar, which is a very damp one. JJunug the past year the board reports 148 prisoners to have been confined in the jail. Two of these were females. There were 57 drunk and disordeny prisonera; 65,drunk; 13, larceny; 2, vagrancv; 2, insane; 2, assault and battery; 7, burglary. One of the female prisoners was in jail or drunkenness and one for vagrancy.
