Omaha, JNeb., Sept. 11. - 1. J. mcuuire and Samuel S. Remer, employed in a south Omaha packing-house, engaged in a novel contest Sunday afternoon. Five hundred people gathered at the base 'jall grounds to see theni test their abilities as beef-skinners. The match was for $50 a side and the gate receipts. ïwo dead beeves were brought in, and when time was called both men set to work. McGuire removed the hide from bis subjeot first, doing the job in 4:53. Remer's time was five minutes.
