Albert A. Stanley, of Providence, R. I . , has been appointed to the chair of music in the University, vice Calvin B. Cady, resigned, and.'also director of the Ann Albor school of music. Mr. Stanley spent four years in the study of music at Leipsic, where under Dr. Papperitz, he 'attained unusual excellence as au organist. He is well known as a musician througbout the east. He bas been for thirteen years ia Providence as a teacher and director of music and organist of Giace Episcopal ehurch.
