The City Sued For $10,000
Deputy United States Marsh a VVoodrufï carne oul frota Detroit last Monday to serve papers on the city in the case of David Henning against the city of Ann Arbor and the Michigan Central railroad. The suit is a joint one against the city and railroad, and is an action on the case, Mr. llenning claiming "damage to the amount of $10,000. Our readers will recollect that this suit grows out of the raisiug of the grade of Detroit street fór the puipose of bridging the railroad track, and the closing of State street that the nevv Central depot inight be located where it now is. The city supposed that all the legal steps were properly taken and that Mr. llenning was not damaged in a legal eense. Mr. llenning thinks otherwise and through bis attornev Chas. M. Swift, of Detroit, will attempt to collect damage in the U.S. cir' cuit court. The return day of the summons is made October2.
