Need Of Street Signs

Mu. Editor:- With yonr permission I would like to cali the attention of the city authorities to a which should be attended to. I refer to the necessity of placing ia a conspicuous position on at least two corners of each crossing in the city the ñames of the intersecting streets. This inay be, and probably is au old complaint, but it should, uevertheless, continue to be reiterated until there is no f urther cause forit . There are probably not half a dozen other cities in the country which have, in proportion to their size, more strangers continually coming within their borders than does Ann Arbor, yet there is probably notjoneinthe whole country which shows a greater lack of enterprise in making it convenieut in this respect for its visitors than does our city. If our city f athers could hear some of thejustly disparaging things that are said about them by strangers in their efforts to flnd certain locahties in tho city, these officers would certainly bestir themselves and see to it that not only the names of the streets are atjonce posted up, but that every house.has the right number placed upon it. Please start the ball rolling, and continue to rnll it until this matter is attfindfiiito.
