Went Safely Through Niagara Rapids

Rochester, N. Y , Sept. 17. - A special to Tbe Heralfl f rom Suspension Bridge says: Charles A. Percy, tbe whirlpool rapids navigator of tuis place, and who has been preparing to take a trip through the rapids for the past week, started from the old Maid of the Mist landing at 4:35 p. m. Saturday. When hestruck the rapids by Manning's elevator his boït capsized, but righted below Buttery's 'elevator. He was twenty-one minutes going through. No damage was done to the boat. The woman who had intended to go through with hira backed out.
