Robbed By Their Conductors
New York, Sept. 25. - Much excitement bas been caused iu the raihvay ciicles here by the discovery that the AVagner Palace Car company has been robbed by their couducturs of a sum reported to aggregate soine $50,000. The thieving, it is said, has been carrisd ou systematieally for soine months past Dy the couductors, and there seems to be no immediate possibility of couvicting the tbieves. Numerous conductors have already been discbarged, no explanátíons beiug offered. The tint clew to the robbery is reported to have been gained through the remarks of a conductor overheard in a Sixth avenue restaurant. Shortly after the chief ' check clerk, ömith, mysteriously vauished, and DolLaug has been heard of hiin since, though it is supposed that he is in Canada.
