The common couneil met last Thursday and Monday evenii.gs. Tbey accepted the deed of Geo. W. VVeeks, 8. D. Lennon and Chas. L. Gardner for the new road in the fif th ward and ordered a survey made. Second street was ordered opened. Mr. 13ach was offered $S00 for the right of way, which he accepted, and a deed was made which was aceepted by the couneil at a special meeting held Monday eveniug. Places for registration were selected. It was voted to raise $2,000 for general street fund, $6,000 for general fund, $5,000 for water works, 5,000 for general fund voted at special election. $1,535 56 delinquent tax, $700 flrstward, $1,000 for each of the second, third, fourth and sixth wards funds, $700 for fifth ward, $300 for opening Second street, and about $125 in special sidewalk assessments.
