The Knights Of Labor
Pittsburg, Pa., Oct. 8. - In commenting on the resignation of Thomas Barry of the general Ijoard Knights of Labor, Homer L. Mcfiaw, ex-master workinan of district I sembly ïio. 3, said Sunday uight tbat the membership of the order has fallen off i siderably withia the last two years. Ex-Master Workman Joseph L. Evans of district assembly No. 3 saiti: "Tom Barry'a sickness has impairjd his mind aad ha doas not know what he is talking about. The order will not go to pieoes in a thousand years. Notwithstanding Powderly'sdeclaration he will Le a candidate, and he wiU be defeated, too." Regarding the merabership the report made at the general assemb'y at Harailton, Ont, in 1885 was 543,202; at Richmond, 1888, about 72U.0ÜÜ; at Min'.eapolis, 1887, 4Sá, 791; at present, 2.:J,571. A mo.ubor of district assembly No. 8 says that the order is $10,000 in debt. The assets consista of a building worth $50,000.
