Baltimore, Oct. 13.- Betweeu 4,000 and 5,000 people witnessed the launching of the new bunbout Petrei at the ship yards of the Columbian Iron works at Locust Point Sat urday flfternoon. Secretary Whitaey was representad by Kear Admira! Rodgers. There were also present Commodore Schley, Commodore Terry, Naval Constructor Nixon, Naval Constructor Hichmau, Rear Admiral Franklin and many other naval offlrars. The Petrel started from the ways at 2:0!) p. m. , lieing christñned ly Miss Virginia Schley, daughter of Commodore Sctiley, Ijreaking a bottle of champagne over her bow. The Petrel glided iuto the Patapseo gracefully amid tooting of whistles ot maay tugs and excursión boats.
