On Historic North Halstead

Chicago, Oct. 23.- Nortbi Halstead street was the scsno of another "anti-scab" demoustration yesterday afternoon. About a thousanri people collected on thafc thoroughfare, at tüe comer of Clybourne avenue, and af ter collecting a pile of bncks, stoaes and timbera on the stro3t car tracks, waited for a car to come along. When it appeared the condactor and driver were saluted with the usual fusillade of brickbats, and the pólice, who were hastily summoned, had considerable difficulty in dispersing the crowd ad esoorting the car back to the barn. Ou Wells street, also, the new men were kept busy all day removingstones from the tracli, puiling wedges out of the cable slot and watching for missiles throwa from alley ways. The pólice made sovoral arrests during the day.
