An Authoress Married

Boston, Oct. 22.- Miss Elizabeth Stuart Plielps, the authoress, and the Rev. H. D. Ward, of The New York Independent, were married quietly at East Gloueester Saturday. Mr. Ward is a summer res ideut tbere, and is an enthusiastic amateur yachtman. Professor Phelps, of Andover, officiated. '(Miss Phelps has been for many seasons a resident at East Gloueester,and one of her recent publicatioDS, "Jack," a story of a Glouoester sailor, aroused a storm of adverse noinment from the people and pulpit bere. Mr. VV'ard is a eomparatively young man, not over 35. Miss Phelps ia somewhat oliler.
