Washington City, Oct. 31.- N. M. Wilkius, the postmaster at Jalma, Mead county, Kan. , in a letter to the postoffice department states that owing to the failure of the erop the people in that section are suffering for food and clothinj. "Three-fourtbs of the people," he adds, "will starve unlass aid can be procured. The people of this country have been pleading for aid since spring, but as yet no aid has reached us. Some in our county are living on parebed coru, and others on bread and coffee, aud others on bread and water."
