New York City gives Cleveland a plurality of 57,213 and Kings County ia which Brooklyn is situated gives him 12,037. Hill's plurality in New York city is 63,389 and iu Kings county 13,568. - But the state outside of the cities has gone heavily republican. Erie county gives Harrisson, 1,799; Chatauqua county gives Harrisson 5,924, a gain of several thousand; Ooondaga county gives him 6,100 and St. Lawrence, one of the backwoods counties a majority of 7,950. The vote was very heavy, the democratie vote in the state being larger than ever before. But arge as it is, the republican vote is larger. Connecticut gives Cleveland a small plurality. Complete returns f rom this state give Cleveland, 74,904; Harrison, 74,519; Fisk, 4,181; Cleveland's plurality 385. New Jersey goes heavily democratie, the demócrata gaining the legislatura and one congressman . Cleveland's plurality will be over 7,000. The prohibition vote was light. Harrison carries Vermont by 23,500; Colorado, 8,000; Maine, 23,000, Kansas, 70000; Pennsylvania, 73,000, Magsachusetts, 32.000: New Hampshire, 3,000; Oregon, 7,000; Nebraska, 30,000; Iowa, 30,000; Illinois, 18,006; Michigan. 20,000; Minnesota, 20.000;] Rhode Island, 4,000; Wisconsin, 15,000; Ohio, 20,000. Cleveland carries Maryland by 5,500; Virginia,' 6,000; Georgia, 25,000; Deleware, 1,500; North Carolina, 20,000; South Carolina,35,000; Tennessee,20,000; Florida, 4,000; Kentucky, 38,000; Missouri, 30,000; Alabama, 55,000; Arkatisas, 25,000; Louifiana, 18,000; sippi, 30,000; Texas, 120,000; VVeat Vil' ginia, 1,000. It looks as if Cleveland had a very small plurality of the popular vote, but o small is it, that if the election were o be decided by the popular vote it would be some days yet before it would )e positively known how the country had gone. Indiana is probably repubhcan. kiarion county gives Cleveland 400 maority. This is Harrison's home and it gave Blaine a plurality of 226 in 1884. Where they know him best, according o republican logic, they like him least. Nevada gives a republican plurality of 1,500. California is doubtful. Cleveland has made heavy gams but probably not enough to carry the state. He carries San Francisco. The prohibition vote falls off from 1884. The democratie 3tate committee claim the state by 2,000; the republicans by 7,000. It is not yet known how the house of representativas will stand. Both sides are claiming it and it looks as if thé majority either way would be less than ten. The republicans have gained a number of districts and the democrats have gained other districts. The republican gaias have however been the most numerous. THE BETURNS FKOM MICHIGAN. Michigan has gone heavily republican. Harrison carries the state by 20,000 and Luce by 10,000. Wayce county gives Cleveland a plurality of 4,494 and Burt a plurality oí 9,638. Saginaw county gives Cleveland 2,000 and Burt 2,300. The upper península J give3 Harrison and Burt about 4,000. The democrats lose two congressmen in the st'ate, the republicans defeating Tarsney and Ford. Barnes made a fine run in the Lansing district but is defeatedby200. Bliss has 500 majority in Tarsney's district. Whiting is reelected by 500. Theldemocrats gained slightly in thejlegislature. The seuate stands 21 repuDlicans and 11 democrats the house stands 61 republicans and 39 democrats.
