They teil a good story on one of our well known grocerymen. When he was round taking orders laat week, he told he lady ol the house, that he had a very me young turkey he could send her. ihe said she was in the habit of lookngatturkeys before purchasintc, but as he assured her the turkey was a very ine one, both young and tender, she concluded to take It. The "turkey' arrived in good season and turned ou1 ;o be a hen well advanced in years which, after some houra parboiling be ore roasting, was finally placed upon thetable. The next day the grocer's man appeared for further orders 'What was it you brought here yester day?" asüed the lady, ',Why a young turkey." and in spite of her claim tha t was a hen he stuck to the assertion until the wishbone was produced which settled the dispute. Some one had salmed off a matriarchal hen on the jrocer, who is waiting for that some jody with blood ia his eye.
