About KOü Socialists gained admission to the ball aud by creating an uproar prevented the speakers from completina: their addresses. A desperate fight between the Roman Catbolics and Socialists ensued, in the course of vvhich many persons vrere injured. The police were flually compelled to fire into the riotous crowd in order to quell the disturbance, and several persons were wounded. After order had been restored the nngieaders of the Sucialistic crowd were arresied aud locked up.
