A Broken Hose Cart

Protection Jlose Company met witb an accident while going to the lire Friday morning. Their cart which is a ligtat one, intended for speeding purpose?, was attached to the hook and ladder truck. While Hauser was urging his team to the top of their speed, the cart struck a stone, bounded into the air and came down on its side, breaking the spokes in the wheels and the braces on the reel and bending the tongue out of shape. VVhen the cart went into the air, the extensión" ladder to which it was attached shot out about fifteen feet with "Dodger" Keegan on the end of it. He was kept teetering in the air, and hanging on for dear life until the truck could be stopped. It was a nar row escape for him. The company had to go on to the lire without their cart.
