Marblehead, Mass , Deo. 26. - The business portion of tliis historie old town is in ashes, more than twenty-five buildings, including eight or ten largs shoe faetones, having been burned. No lives were lost, but seven aeres of grouad were burned over, and the loss is estimated at not loss than $600,000. JN'early the same territory was burned over about twelve yeara ago, the fire starting in nearly the same place. Many of last nighl's victiras were sufïerers by the former flre. The shoe business, which has been idle for several months past, was just startingup, and many operativos will now be thrown out of work the entire winter. The fire is still burning. It is impossible to get deflnite losses on account of the great excitement prevailing.
