And old bopes almost blighted By sorrow's trembling teara, Onco morewitli -iojy lighted Th jxitliwaj ai the yeara. They came, 'm ld erening splendor, That iShODe across the sea; And lore, with look so tendot. Agxfn üd beokon me. And f ar the stretch ing ocean Ot sunset, trembling gold, Reflected my emotion - The soul deep thoughta of old. It passed, and glory faded, From hfll and ky and sea; The pathway, deeply shaded, Was all It lef t to me.
