The Gym Fund Benefit. This Tuesday evening Mr. James Kay Applebee, of Boston, will appear in University Hall to deliver his lecture on "Dickens," for the benefit of the gymnasium fund. To those that heard him while in Ann Arbor, three weeks ago, Mr. Applebee is too well known to need any commendation. Of his lecture on "Dickens" we quote the following from the Buffalo (N. Y.), Express: "James Kay Applebee last evening delivered the last of his series of lectures on Charles Dickens. The speaker held hishearers spell-bound as he delivered with rare power of expression the humor, the pathos and the feeling that imbued the writings of the famous English novelist, reading with'great effect ilustrativeselections from hisworks." The Unity Club is putting itself to no small expense in bringing Mr. Applebee here, and it is to be remembered that every cent goes to the gymnasium fund. Therefore et everyone attend the lecture, remembering that while he is receivïng a rare literary treat he is also contributing to our University gym. :und.
