Democratic State Convention
The democratie state convention Tuesday renominated the ablest man on the supreme bench, Judge John W. Champlin. Arthur M. Clark, the efficiƫnt regent was renominated with enthusiasm. Charles S. Williams, of Schiawassee, was also nominated for regent. A rousing convention was held. Among those present from Washtenaw were T. D. Kearney, Prof. M. E. Cooley, Dr. V. C. Vaughan, G. Brehm, Jas. Kearns, Mayor Manly, F. H. Belser, E. Duffy, F. A. Howlett, C. Tuomey, Sheriff Dwyer and S. W. Beakes, of Ann Arbor; Congressman Gorman, of Lyndon, J. V. N. Gregory, of Dexter, Judge Babbitt, J. L. Lowden, D. Quirk, T. Buck, M. T. Woodruff and H. Coe of Ypsilanti, M. Davenport, of York, and J. Lutz, of Saline, E. Duffy, served on the committee on resolutions. T. D. Kearneywas chairman of the second congressional district.
