The idea that worHngmen cannot be trusted to aid in a philosophical adjustment is so erroneous as to excite the surprise of all thoughtful men. The science of political economy was born among the lowly. Adam Smith, whose "Origin of the Wealth of Nations," was our emancipation proclamation to labor, was cradled in tha hut of a Scotch laborer, and accustomed to toil. And no subsequent writer on that subject has been able to lay down any new principies, or to successfully counteract the views of the poor Scotcnman.
