To-morrow morning the boards will be opened for the lecture to be given Saturday evening, by the celebrated leader of the Russian revolutionary party, Sergius Stepniak. About thirteen years ago he first came into public notice by publishing in Italian "Underground Russia," a work which has had extended circulation in this country. Since then he has been in Bngland, writing and speaking in behalf of the Nihilists. His recent works are, "Russia Under the Tzars," "The Career of a Nihilist," "Russian Storm Clouds," "Russian Peasantry." The following is an outline of the lecture he is to give here : "nihilism," its past history and PROSPECTS. Whal Nihilism is. Liberáis apd Nihilists; their respective positions. Democratie tendency as the characteristie common to hoth parties. Great exaltation as the chief peculiarity of the extreme party. lts cause. Russian universities as seminaries of Russian thought. The intensity of intellectual life going on there below the surface. Turgueneff's graphic account of it. The militant Nihilism of to-day. lts character and prospects. The certain advent of Democracy in Russia, and the change it will bring in her international position. Conclusión: The movement in favorof Russian freedom, started in England. lts significance and bearing.
