Narrow Escape From Death
HoĆ¼GHTON, Mich., March 3.- A dozen people had a narrow escape from deatb near here. A sleighing party was crossing a little lake on their way to a concert when the horses took fright and dashed toward a large hole where ice-cutting had been in progresa. Just before reaching the water the horses swerved, overturning the sleigh and throwing the occupants out. A moment later the horses plunged into the water and were seen no more. Had not the sleigh upset all in the party would doubtless have perished.
